SESCO, a growing company that specializes in turnkey fall protection solutions, is seeking an experienced sales professional to join our team as an Inside Sales Representative.

Fall Protection is the fastest growing segment in the personal protective equipment market.  Recent updates and changes to OSHA regulations ensure continued market growth for many years to come.

The ideal candidate will have solution based sales experience including design, engineering, fabrication and installation.

General Summary

The Inside Sales representative has responsibility for developing customer relationships in the United States Midwest market. This person will work directly with the General Manager, Outside Sales Representative and Project Manager to increase sales, develop customer accounts, and execute the business development strategy.   The Inside Sales person has responsibility for handling the day-to-day sales activity with existing customers and new prospects. This person will also work with the General Manager to define and develop proactive sales activity.

This position is critical to maintaining long-lasting customer relationships and will prove pivotal in the continued growth of SESCO. The position requires a result oriented professional capable of multi-tasking and detailed follow through.

Specific Responsibilities

The Inside Sales Representative will:

  • Identify, research and prepare business development campaigns for target companies.
  • Prepare call scripts, email templates and execute business development strategy.
  • Place outbound sales calls to prospective customers to generate new business opportunities.
  • Be ready and willing to answer incoming sales calls and product order inquiries
  • Prepare, send and close small product order quotes.
  • Assist in the creation and follow-up of leads and opportunities on an as needed basis.
  • Work with Outside Sales Representative to achieve the annual business plan.
  • Coordinate and execute other assigned business development activities such as email campaigns.
  • Be part of a team that builds a relationship focused, proactive team in customer service area.
  • Perform other specific tasks as requested by the General Manager and other company Managers.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 year AS degree in Business, Sales, Communications, Marketing or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous sales experience required or experience that exemplifies excellent communication skills in a business-to-business setting.

Outside Sales Representative

As an outside sales representative you will call directly on and visit customer sites in a wide array of unique industries very few get to experience.  Some of these include:

  • Aircraft manufacturing and maintenance hangars.
  • Manufacturing facilities that produce everything from printing paper to garbage disposals.
  • Transportation and maintenance facilities for buses, trains, and trucks.
  • Underground freezer storage facilities to the tops of skyscrapers

You will work hand in hand with the safety and management professionals at these Fortune 1000 companies to collaboratively develop unique fall protection solutions to ensure their employees go home safe each day.

Duties

  • Call on and sell our fall protection solutions to fortune 1000 companies in the industrial, aviation and commercial markets..
  • Meet assigned targets for total sales and gross margin.
  • Develop strong business relationships within all levels of organizations, including senior level management.
  • Develop and execute individual business development plan.
  • Promptly act on inbound leads.
  • Efficiently qualify new leads.
  • Aggressively pursue all assigned opportunities.
  • Perform ANSI compliant fall hazard surveys
  • Regularly travel in designated territory performing site visits and customer consultations to determine solutions and obtain detailed information for estimates and proposals.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and technical proposals.
  • Maintain CRM database of assigned leads and opportunities.
  • Follow the SESCO sales process.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales goals.
  • Attend networking and tradeshow events
  • Travel: 30%-40% overnight

Desired Skills and Experience

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years sales experience or, in lieu of education, 6+ years of related sales experience preferably in the safety or industrial fields.
  • Proven track record of professional success.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Analytical and detail oriented problem-solving skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of fall protection solutions, regulations and/or construction processes.
  • Professional Sales Training.
  • Read construction drawings, take measurements and prepare to scale hand or AutoCAD sketches for estimating.

Physical Demands

  • Employee must be able to lift, climb (including above average heights), move, pull and transport at least 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs maximum infrequently.
  • At customer sites the employee may be required to wear personal protective equipment including steel toe boots, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection and/or respirators.
